Band 8.0

The provided diagrams depict the current layout of the airport and the proposed redevelopment plans for next year. Overall, the redevelopment project aims to enhance the airport’s capacity and facilities for better customer service. The plans involve expanding the arrivals area, introducing new facilities and services, and repositioning existing sections of the airport. Currently, the airport has eight gates, numbered 1–8, connected to the main terminal by a central walkway. The terminal is divided into departures on the left and arrivals on the right. Security and passport control occupy the upper part of the building, while passport control and customs are shown on the opposite side. The current plan also includes check-in and a café. After redevelopment, the basic arrangement of the terminal remains, with departures still on the left and arrivals on the right. However, the gate area is extended and the number of gates rises from eight to eighteen. The revised plan also shows a bag-drop point, an ATM, a sky-train connection and a car-hire service, in addition to check-in and a café. Thus, the main changes are the substantial increase in gate capacity and the addition of passenger facilities, rather than a complete reorganisation of the terminal.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Keep the overview to the clearest visible changes: gate capacity increases from 8 to 18, and several passenger facilities are added.
2
Before drafting, compare the two plans feature by feature and note what is retained, added or expanded; avoid describing a purpose that the visual does not provide.
3
Use precise comparisons in the body, such as “from eight to eighteen gates,” and check that each location description matches the left/right layout.
