Ideas to explore

  • The clearest overall change is the rise in gate capacity from 8 gates at present to 18 after redevelopment.
  • The airport keeps its basic left-right arrangement: departures are on the left and arrivals on the right.
  • The future plan adds passenger services and replaces the walkway with a sky-train connection.

Suggested structure

  1. Paraphrase the task and identify the airport and planned timeframe.
  2. Give an overview of the largest changes, especially the increase in gates and added facilities.
  3. Describe the present terminal arrangement and its connection to the gates.
  4. Explain the future concourse shape, new services and sky-train link.
  5. End with a concise comparison of what stays similar and what changes.

Band 6.0

The image portrays how southwest airport will be changed in the future. Overall, the airport will be undergone notable transformations, with key evidence in the expansion of concourse, the introduction of new facilities. At the beginning, there is a concourse with walkway inside and surrounded by eight gates. Also, check-in and café are located in the main terminal building. At present, the concourse is a narrow north–south strip connected to the terminal, with gates numbered 1–8 arranged around it. The terminal below contains security and passport-control areas on the left and passport control and customs on the right, while departures and arrivals are at the bottom. A café is also provided. After redevelopment, the concourse will be extended and divided into two angled branches, increasing the number of gates from eight to eighteen. The central walkway will link the enlarged gate area with the terminal. The main terminal will retain its security, passport-control and customs functions, but its passenger facilities will be expanded: a bag-drop point, ATM, sky-train access and car-hire service will be added, alongside check-in and a café. Thus, the most significant changes are the greater gate capacity and wider range of services, while the basic division between departures and arrivals remains.

Targeted Improvement Tips

1
Replace “At the beginning” with a present-time reference, then describe the current concourse and terminal in a clearly ordered sentence.
2
Make the overview precise: name the concourse expansion and the increase from 8 to 18 gates as the principal changes.
3
Proofread verb patterns and articles, especially “will undergo” and “a walkway,” before checking the final response for accurate facility names.
