The presented table compares the proportion of internet usage among 7 differentyear-old arrays of age with 6 activities. It is generally seen that 7 age groups using the internet for sending emails hold the lion’s share, while the figure for downloading music and videos accounted for the lowest utilization in all age groups. Teenagers don’t show the same pattern across the remaining activities. Email use is consistently high, ranging from 90% among teenagers and people in their 60s to a peak of 95% in the 50s. By contrast, downloading music and videos is the least common activity in every group, falling from 52% of teenagers to just 6% of those aged 70 and over.
Online gaming also declines with age: the proportion drops from 80% among teenagers to 29% in both the 60s and 70+ groups. Travel reservations move in the opposite direction for most groups, rising from 5% for teenagers to 60% for people in their 50s, then dipping to 58% before reaching 61% in the oldest group. Online purchasing is most popular among people in their 30s, at 69%; it ranges from 64% to 69% among those in their 20s to 60s, then falls to 40% among people aged 70 and over. Searching for people is lowest among teenagers (3%) and highest among people in their 30s (33%).
